And now for this year, I've chosen possibility. Because after realizing & admitting that my previous goal of having an Etsy shop wasn't right, I've found myself back at square one. I still haven't figured out what my next big goal/purpose is but that's ok. I've released any shame, frustration & sense of failure I may have felt. I'm turning inward. Focusing on listening to what my heart says, how my body responds & reacts to things. I’m ready for the next new stage & I know its coming, but I’m not forcing it. I've accepted that this is exactly where I am supposed to be & am excited for what's next. For possibility.
Also, I wanted to share my New Year's manifesto with you. Instead of setting resolutions, I decided to switch it up with a manifesto of sorts.
To go along with my OLW, I have started a tradition of getting an egg from here. |
Please share what one little word you would use to summarize this past year and/or your new word or manifesto for 2012. On Wednesday, I'll be sharing the last pages of my Dec Daily & then it's on to the next big creative project for the year. Can't wait to post about that. Thanks for stopping by!

Here's to a year filled with possibility! (I love that photo, too.) I look forward to seeing what opens up for you. :)
My year for 2011 was JOY. Overall, it was a year from hell but the biggest JOY was born into my world in the form of my son. So when I look back and think of all the struggle this year brought me, I am thankful for him because he was a constant source of joy for me every single day.
My new word is authenticity. I'm bringing it home this year and am going to do what feels right and authentic. If it isn't true to me, I'm going to either not do it or find a way to move away from it (i.e. the day job). Here's to an amazing year!
Clearly I didn't do this exercise last year, but I would characterize it as a year of BRAVERY. Taking a chance, making huge sacrifices and struggling to make a dream come true.
And I did it! Now I just need to keep it going so my little word for 2012 is going to be STRENGTH. Find it within, nurture it, use it to believe, to be positive, to continue to make changes. Aahhh...
I hope 2012 can bring us a little closer and into each others lives a little deeper. You inspire me!
D, you are a gem for sharing. It's great to have friends whom you admire - for me that's you!
@Woz- thanks for being a major supporter/friend/encourager this past year. I know it was a difficult time for you but I love that you found the positive/joy & yes, what an amazing little guy he is. What a grt word for 2012. I know that you will rock this year no matter what you do!
@Heather - You inspire me! I am so grateful to have reconnected & I know that you will be a major part of my life going forward. Thank you for your encouragement & enthusiasm. What excellent word choices & both are very appropriate. You are quite amazing & I can't wait to see more of Embo & what's in store (no pun intended) for you this year.
love this!! you should mark that as "kathy and danielle's 2012 manifesto" :)
my word for 2011 was "living". because i spent the previous 2yrs in darkness, 2011 was all about getting back to life which i did.
here's to an awesome 2012! happy new year!
I'm with Kathy on this one. I just want to live this year. I want to figure myself out and just be normal for once. I want to get back to my life.
This is a good way to look at your life and what you want from it. Cheers to resolutions and manifesto's. :)
I miss you blogging I'm glad you're back!!
@Kathy - From here on out, the 2012 manifesto will be forever called ours. I am so proud of you 1) for getting out of the darkness and 2) to call you a friend.
@Abby - I'm glad to be back to blogging too! You are taking all the right/necessary steps to "getting back" to life & I know that you can do whatever you set your mind to. I will be there supporting you all the way.
