52 Weeks of Mail - August - October

52 Weeks of Mail is over & I wanted to share the last 3 months of this year-long project. I really enjoyed making the cards, even though admittedly, some months were harder than others. Both in the motivation & inspiration departments. What I loved the most was hearing from the people who received the cards. Most everyone responded enthusiastically & those that I never heard from...well...I chose to imagine I made their day & focused on all the positive comments I did get.

I will continue to handmake cards but only for special occasions. 52 weeks was a fantastic idea but I am overcommitted on projects as it is. I am forgoing making Christmas cards this year (last year I sent them to immediate family only) & am planning on doing a repeat of New Year's cards.

Tell me, are you sending out Christmas cards this year?

52 Weeks of Mail - June Cards

Can't believe that I only have 4 months left of this year long project. It has gone by incredibly fast. This month's cards were all about paper punches & washi tape.

For my Dad
For a friend who's battling an unknown ailment.
I'm sending her one every month. Sorry
for the blurriness. I realized that it was the only pic I
had after I had already sent the card out.

For a friend I met at work

For a penpal

Thanks for stopping by. See you on Friday for another Five Favs post.

52 Weeks of Mail - May Cards

Still going strong...I never imagined the pleasure I'd get out of sending off handmade cards every month.  I especially love the comments from the recipients thanking me & saying that it was a nice surprise because that's the reaction I had hoped for going into it. With the convenience of email & social media, snail mail seems to have fallen by the wayside. Thankfully, there seems to have been a "revival" of sorts with a proliferation of crafters making cards & small independent presses/shops that sell cards, stationary, etc,. And my open invitation still stands - if you want one just email me your address at: aloveaffairwithpaper [at] yahoo [dot] com

Here are May's cards:

For my mom - obviously :)
For M's birthday
For a friend & his girlfriend, who
somewhat recently moved in together
For one of the altered journal
round robin participants

Love that my mom displays all my cards on
their fridge. Love you mom!
Thanks for stopping by!

52 Weeks of Mail - April Cards

Thanks everyone for your kind FB & blog comments regarding my One Little Word April assignment. I can't say enough how much I appreciate that you choose to stop by here :)

As for my 52 Weeks of Mail, it's taken me so long to share my April cards because I lost the pics I took of them; as in they literally vanished during the transfer from my phone to iPhoto. I had to ask all my recipients if they would send me pics, which they generously did & then as I was waiting for the last pic to arrive, I did a little more digging & retrieved them from some buried & convoluted path of files.

Here are April's cards:

My parents celebrated their 39th
anniversary on the 14th
For one of the Altered Journal
Round Robin participants
To cheer up a friend
To cheer on a friend in law school
See you on Friday with Project Life Week 15 - we're almost caught up now so no more double posts.

52 Weeks of Mail - March Cards

Today, I wanted to share last month's 52 Weeks of Mail cards. This makes 7 months & still going strong. 1 year of 4 cards per month. And so far, I've handmade them all!  If you haven't received a card from me yet & want one, send me your address. And if I already have your address, know that one will be coming by Oct :)

I ended up removing the flag & placing it
on the card b/c I didn't have an envelope big enough to
hold it.

See you on Friday with a Project Life post. Hopefully, you won't be sick of those as I play catch-up.

52 Weeks of Mail - Feb Cards

Hi friends. Today, I wanted to share this month's 52 Weeks of Mail cards. As you can guess, I made Valentine's day cards & made them half the size I normally do so that I could create a few extras.

Hope you're having a good week.
